High Priority Projects

There are many, many projects that should have high priority.  That means they need funding, equipment, volunteers, and more.  Right now, there are many projects out there that are unique and bring something new to the table.  However, focusing on too much at once is not very effective.  So which projects should be given high priority?  For now, the following categories are:

  • Software: Examples would the Linux kernel itself, XFCE, etc…  The license must fit the definition of freedomware (hint: GPL and GPL-related/compatible licenses always do).
  • Hardware: Whether it be drivers for hardware or specifications that would allow for the creation of hardware that was compatible with freedomware.
  • Charities: The HeliOS Project would be an example of a charity.  Charities either give away freedomware, computers with freedomware installed, or both.

If anyone has any ideas, feel free to send them via e-mail to: thomas@freedomwareproject.org
